Majestic: Devotions By Kari Jobeনমুনা
How Majestic
The name of God is above every name, and this is a song of declaration and praise acknowledging that truth. He created all things, yet took on human flesh and came to this earth. Creation praises Him, heaven sings His praise, and we are invited here on earth to join that song. Having a revelation that when we sing worship to the Lord, it shifts the atmosphere of a room and makes us more aware of His presence being there. During the night of the recording as I was leading “How Majestic,” something broke open in the room. I had my eyes closed and started picturing the throne room of heaven.
I also saw a vision of God, as King, sitting on His throne. Then I began to feel the presence of God get stronger and stronger, and as we were lifting His name over every other name, the Lord was being exalted in our worship. I love Psalm 22:3, “Yet You are Holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel,” the Most Holy God inhabits our praises and makes a throne on the worship of His people. The enemy has to flee at the name of Jesus. When He walks in the room, there's nothing like it. And the key to this happening is us magnifying and praising His holy, Majestic Name.
The story behind the song is so exciting. This song is a gift. It was sent to me by the other writers because they kept feeling that I was supposed to sing it. It still needed a bridge that would work, but when I first heard the chorus I began to cry. The day that they talked to me about being a part of the song was the same day we had secured the Majestic theatre to record the album. When I was told that the title of the song was already called “How Majestic,” I was in awe. What a gift!
What started as a dream of recording at the Majestic theatre was now going to be a reality, and in that very same time frame I got “How Majestic” sent to me by the guys. I remain in awe of God. His name is above all names. How truly majestic is He!
