Margin

DAY 1 OF 15

Stress seems to be a constant for so many of us. At times it can feel like every area of our lives is defined by how busy we are. Think about it for a moment. How often do you feel stressed because of your job or all that you have going on with your family? How often do you feel financial stress when the bills start piling up? How often do you wish you either had more time for yourself or more time to spend with those you love? Normal in today’s culture encourages us to push to our limits, and as a result, most of us are living at an unsustainable and unbiblical pace. The key is creating margin.

Margin can be defined as the amount available beyond what is necessary. It’s the difference between what you have and what you need. So many of us today need margin in our lives. We’ve become consumed and obsessed with accomplishing the things we think are urgent and important. As a result we’re missing out on the most important things in life.

A great example of this can be found in Luke 10 when Jesus came to visit Mary and Martha. During His visit, Mary sat at Jesus’ feet listening to Him, while Martha was busy with all the preparations that had to be done. Are you more like Martha or like Mary? When was the last time you sat quietly for a period of time and just listened for Christ to speak into your life? If it has been a while, then it’s time to create some margin in your life.

About this Plan

Margin

Sometimes it seems like the only way to keep up with all the demands on our lives is to run at maximum capacity—and then some. But there is another way, one where we have room to breathe and space to respond to what God brings our way. This reading plan features a variety of devotional readings, video teaching from Craig Groeschel, and videos of everyday people living with margin in their lives.
