30 Little Things: The Book of Genesisনমুনা
Sacrifice. (Cain and Abel pt.2)
It will be called a sacrifice if we give away something that is worth something to us. If it is not valuable enough for us, it would not be called a sacrifice. When we clean up our closets and give away the stuffs we don't use anymore to the poor, this is not worthy to be called a sacrifice. This is charity, an act of kindness that does not affect our well-being. But, when we give up the time we have for playing games and napping to help our sister do our math homework, that is a sacrifice. Playing games has got to be so much more fun compared to doing math homework, yet we do it anyway because our sister is more important than games.
It is the same way when it comes to offering our sacrifices to the Lord. Don't give God the left-overs of our daily routine and have us come to prayer every night nearly falling asleep. Discipline ourselves to put spending time with God a number one priority in our schedule. Learn from Cain, let us not give just some parts of our time, energy and effort to God, but the best parts.
