DAY TEN
Weathering Life's Storms
When the storms of life strike, it's what happens IN you that will determine what happens TO you. At the first sign of a storm, remain calm and maintain your trust and confidence in God's ability to see you through to victory.
Here are some comforting facts you should know about rough weather:
1. Rough weather doesn't last forever. II Corinthians 4: 17,18—"... Our light affliction, which is but for a moment... the things which are seen are temporal...."
2. Rough weather will try to wear you down, but don't let it wear you out. Acts 27:20- "...And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away."
3. Rough weather can cause you to lose your sense of direction. Hebrews 12:1-2 (NAS)—"... Let us lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, FIXING OUR EYES ON JESUS...."
4. Rough weather can bring upon you an overwhelming sense of failure. Mark 4:38—"... Carest thou not that we perish?"
5. Your attitude about rough weather can either make you or break you. Proverbs 23:7 (NAS)—"As a man thinks within himself, so he is."
Let me encourage you to strengthen yourself and don't let the enemy steal the Word out of your heart. No matter what you are facing now, God is able to see you to the other side victoriously.
When I experience the storms of life, I've found that it's important to remember that:
1. Defeat comes from looking back;
2. Distraction comes from looking around;
3. Discouragement comes from looking down;
4. and Deliverance comes from looking up.
GOD'S ON YOUR SIDE AND WILL ENABLE YOU TO BE VICTORIOUS IN AND THROUGH YOUR STORM!
