Promise 1: "So do not fear, for I am with you." Isaiah 41:10

At the time I’m writing this, the life expectancy worldwide is seventy years for men and seventy-six for women. This means we have, on average, about 27,740 days on this earth.

Those days will start with a sunrise and end with a sunset, be filled with loving and working, laughter and tears, perhaps the cold of ice cream and the heat of summer.

Each day will also be filled with the presence of God. We tend to think of forever as something that starts when we get to heaven. But when God says he will be with us, he doesn’t just mean in the then and there. He means in the here and now of every moment too.

Wherever you are right now as you’re reading these words, God is with you.

Wherever you were in your darkest moment, God was with you.

Wherever you will be in your time of greatest joy, God will be with you.

When you took your first breath, God was there.

When you finally let go of this life, God is going to welcome you into the next.

Wherever you have been, wherever you are, wherever you will be—God is there too.

This means whatever the day brings, you do not have to be afraid. You will never face anything alone. The promise of God is that he is with you always, for this life and forever.

God, thank you that I don't have to fear because you are with me in every circumstance and season of my life. Amen.
