Practical Application of the Word

Jesus says in John 14:9 “‘He who has seen Me has seen the Father.’
Jesus is the “Word” (John 1:1).
So if you see and know the “Word,” then you see and know the Father!

How beautiful it is that God gave us His Word and that this Word shows us exactly who He is.
For Jesus is the perfect reflection of the Father.
By knowing Him, knowing the Word, we can know the Father! The more you know about your Father, the more you can act according to His will and Who He is.

Studying the Word and fully embracing it is essential in the renewing of your mind.

You embrace the Word by meditating on it, ponder it, and chew on it. You make the Word your own by memorizing texts and by reading it frequently so that you know what God is saying.

Besides knowing the Word “theoretically,” it is essential you also mix the Word with faith and then act on it and walk in it. 'Acting faith' takes possession of all His promises. If God says don't worry about tomorrow (Matthew 6:34), then don't.

James 1:22:
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

All the words of God you take in are seeds you plant in your heart. What happens to seeds? They grow and can eventually be harvested.

That means that when you begin to renew your mind with the Word of God, you will no longer be led by your circumstances and by what Satan tries to whisper to you.

No longer will you be determined by what others think and say of you or by external things and noises. No more by the news, no more by fear, no more by doubt or unbelief.

With a renewed mind,” you will ultimately be guided solely by God’s Word. By what He says and what your whole being is full of. After all, from the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.

Make the Word of God your ultimate truth, get to know it, and completely renew your mind with it. You will be a powerful disciple!
