I Received Jesus! Now What?

DAY 1 OF 6

Welcome to the Family of God!

…anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17

Do you have that “new life” described in 2 Corinthians 5:17? If you have asked Jesus to save you, your old life is gone. God has given you a new life. You might be wondering, “What does a new life look like anyway? How is my new life different from my old one?”

My first question as a new believer fifty years ago was, “Is there a list somewhere telling me the things I should do now?” I was clueless. I needed help.

My desire is to help you get started on the right foot as you take the next steps in your new life with Christ. It will be fun!

This reading plan is designed to be your “list” as you create a plan for your new life. The reality is, without a plan you are doomed to struggle in your walk with the Lord. God loves you more than you can think or imagine. Stop! Think about that. The Lord wants to nurture you and help you grow in your walk with Jesus.

As we journey through these next steps, I hope to inspire you to establish some strong spiritual disciplines that will stay with you for your entire life. What are spiritual disciplines anyway? They are a daily routine for spending time with God. As we journey together for the next few days, I hope this plan will help you grow and experience the deep intimacy with God you have always desired.

Here is what we will discuss over the next few days—it’s easy to remember since each word starts with a P:

  • Peace
  • Presence
  • Protection
  • Purpose
  • Power

Let’s begin your plan with a reminder of the PEACE you now have because of your decision to follow Christ.

About this Plan

I Received Jesus! Now What?

Setting priorities is an essential step for becoming a fully devoted follower of Christ. Oswald Chambers, a famous theologian, once said "The busyness of things obscures our concentration on God ... Never let a hurried lifestyle disturb the relationship of abiding in Him. This is an easy thing to allow, but we must guard against it." Let’s talk about abiding in God.
