FOUND IN HIM

It’s easy to hear God when you are in His presence! When you connect with God through conversation, you feel close to Him because His answer reveals His nearness to you. The Bible shows us many examples of God intimately knowing and caring for His children. In Genesis 16, God meets Hagar in the wilderness and calls her by name.

“Then the angel of the Lord said to her, ‘Return to your mistress, and submit yourself to her authority’. Moreover, the angel of the Lord said to her, ‘I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they will be too many to count.’” Genesis 16:9-10

Here, God has a personal conversation with Hagar, telling her not only about her past and present circumstances, but about the future He has for her and the child she is carrying. He gives her both instructions for the present and promises for the future.

This is the epitome of a conversation with God—seeking His plans and promises for your life and waiting hear Him speak to you. As you ask Him questions and listen for His voice, you bring your thoughts and actions into alignment with His heart for you. The more you talk with God, the more you know what His voice sounds like. One word from God can change everything! Today, ask God to reveal His heart and His plans to you.

PRAYER

Thank You Father for seeing me exactly where I am today and that I am found in You! Help me to hear Your voice more clearly. Instruct me in the ways I should go, and remind me who I am to You. Amen.

APPLICATION

• Ask God what He says about you and what plans He has for you. Write down what He says.
• Meditate on the things He has spoken to you and obey the instructions He gives you!
