What is the first action step for following the Great Commandment, according to God’s Word? We begin by passing our faith to our children, teaching them the Bible, and pointing them to Jesus. As parents, that is our first and greatest calling!

Following the Great Commandment, God immediately turns our attention to our children. He calls those who desire to love Him to do all in their power to help their children love Him. He calls those who desire to have His Word upon their hearts to help their children have His Word upon their hearts.

The Gospel begins at home, with parents and grandparents called to evangelize and disciple their children and grandchildren. In this way, the home is the centerpiece and the starting point for both the Great Commandment (love God), and the Great Commission (make disciples). Our most important parenting mission is to lead and encourage our children to receive God’s gift of salvation, by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ.

Do you want to be a visionary parent? Ask God to help you live out the greatest commandment, to love Him with all your heart and do all in your power to help your children do the same.
