BLESSED RESTনমুনা

Day 1: God Designed You for Rest
Today's scripture was spoken by Jesus Himself, inviting people to find rest in Him. At the time, people were burdened by religious laws and traditions that felt impossible to uphold. Jesus offered something different—grace and peace that didn’t require striving. His invitation to rest wasn’t just for their physical exhaustion but for their weary souls. That same invitation is for us today.
Rest isn’t just something nice to have; it’s something God calls us to. In a world that glorifies hustle and constant productivity, it can feel almost impossible to stop and rest. But God didn’t design us to run on empty. Even He rested on the seventh day after creation!
For years, I lived in a whirlwind of busyness, especially during my career in radio and TV. I worked hard, but eventually, I burned out. Rest wasn’t something I prioritized until I had no other choice. I learned the hard way after having a panic attack on the air that true rest comes from surrendering our burdens to God, not from squeezing in another Netflix binge or weekend nap.
Today, I encourage you to just pause for a few minutes and talk to God about what’s weighing on you. Write down one burden you need to surrender to Him and pray for His perfect peace.
