Day 3: Building Unity Through Prayer

“Again truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Unity is essential in marriage; it allows couples to face life’s challenges together as one entity rather than two separate individuals. Matthew 18:19-20 emphasizes the power of agreement in prayer among believers. When couples pray together—whether it’s over meals or specific issues—they invite God’s presence into their relationship.

The biblical couple Aquila and Priscilla serve as an excellent example here (Acts 18). They worked side by side not only in their trade but also in ministry efforts alongside Paul. Their unity was evident as they prayed together for guidance and strength while facing persecution for their faith. Their commitment to each other through shared prayers fortified their bond and allowed them to impact others positively.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus,

I come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the sacred gift of marriage. Thank You for bringing my husband and me together, allowing us to share our lives, dreams, and faith.I ask for Your guidance as we navigate the journey of life together. Help us to prioritize our relationship and to seek Your will in all that we do. May we always turn to You in times of joy and in times of challenge.

Lord, instill in us a desire to pray together regularly. Help us to create a space where we can share our thoughts, hopes, and concerns with each other and with You. Let our prayers be a source of strength that draws us closer together. Teach us the importance of supporting one another through every season of life. May we encourage each other’s dreams and aspirations, offering love and understanding during difficult times. Help us to communicate openly and honestly, fostering an environment of trust.

As we serve You together, may our bond deepen. Guide us in finding ways to contribute positively to our community and church, reflecting Your love through our actions. Let our marriage be a testament to Your grace and mercy.

Lord Jesus, I commit this prayer into Your hands. May our marriage flourish under Your guidance as we strive for unity through shared prayers and mutual support.
