Fear Is Not My Future | 21 Days of Prayer and Fastingনমুনা
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
Much like the Israelites prepared to enter the Promised Land—a territory unfamiliar to them—we confront daily uncertainties. How do we navigate these unknowns? Often, we approach them with hesitation and fear, particularly in unfamiliar situations. At times, we are also faced with familiar circumstances that are shrouded in uncertainty regarding their outcomes.
I used to pose this question to my children when they were afraid, "What is the worst thing that could happen to you?" Their answers were often vague, with one of the most common responses being, "We could die." This prompts reflection: is death truly the worst fate one can encounter? Life undoubtedly presents challenges and suffering, and while no one desires to dwell on potential negatives, I would encourage you to reconsider your fears. Is death your sole concern? What about the possibility of facing persecution for sharing your faith, or the implications of losing a job?
People fear for many reasons, and such fears are indeed valid. However, these apprehensions also present opportunities to summon courage rather than succumb to fear. Walking with Jesus assures that there is nothing to dread. The ultimate worst fate is to be eternally separated from God. Yet, if you have Jesus in your heart, this will not be your reality. Therefore, take heart and do not be afraid. Life is fleeting; embrace the opportunity to thank God for choosing you as His own and encourage others by reminding them that there is no reason to fear. Or if they are an unbeliever, share the gospel and have them know the peace that only God can give.
List a few of your worst fears. Compare those fears with these scriptures:1 John 4:18, Matthew 10:27-31, Psalm 118:6
