Led by the Spirit: Journey Through the Book of Acts Part 1নমুনা
Day 4: Better Together
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” This quote aptly characterizes the Christian life, which is not a short sprint but a long marathon. In this fast-paced world, it is easy to live an inward-looking and individualistic life. But just as running a marathon alone makes it challenging for one to finish the race, we need fellow believers to run alongside us to last till the end.
The early church was a dynamic community, brought together by God’s saving grace and united in their devotion to one another. In Acts 2:42-47, we see a clear picture of what it looks like when believers not only follow Jesus but also live in deep, meaningful community with each other. The believers didn’t just come together once a week; they shared their lives daily! This wasn’t just a social gathering or another friend group—it was a transformative way of life where Christ was at the centre.
Their intentionality of fellowship reminds us that doing life together is an essential part of living out our faith. It’s through community that we grow, encourage, and challenge each other to live more like Christ. We need one another to stay rooted in the truth, to be reminded of God’s promises, and to share in the joys and struggles of life.
God never intended for us to walk this faith journey alone. Just as the early believers fellowshipped together, we are called to be part of a community where we can experience both giving and receiving care. It’s in this context that we see God’s love lived out in practical ways. Whether it’s offering a listening ear, praying for one another, or sharing resources, these acts of fellowship mirror God’s grace and generosity toward us.
In Philippians 2, Paul encouraged the church in Philippi to do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit but to value others above themselves (Philippians 2:3-4). When we do this, we create spaces where God can work in powerful ways. This kind of spiritual community fosters growth, accountability, and encouragement. Whether we are long-time believers or new to the faith, we must never assume that we can make it on our own. God created us to be in community, and we are truly better together.
Reflect:
- Are there people in your life with whom you are walking closely in faith? If not, consider how you can be more intentional about building such relationships.
- Reach out to a friend, an LG member, or someone new in church this week. Share a meal, pray together, or simply have an honest conversation about life.
