The Comeback Part 1নমুনা
Title: “The Comeback Kid”
I love the old adage from the anonymous preacher who said: “It’s when you are at rock bottom that you realize there is a rock at the bottom.” In the book of Luke, we see Jesus teach in the form of a parable that gives us a visual representation of this quote.
The story of the prodigal son is a monumental example of a young man with a great inheritance who spends it on a life of sin. But the Bible shows us that this “comeback kid’s” story begins in the middle of his lowest point.
Luke 15:17 (NIV):
"When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!’"
We all love a good comeback story. I believe part of the reason for this is because internally, we have a desire to be found no matter how lost we may get in life. Luke 15 outlines three teachings from Jesus to illustrate the Father’s love for His lost sheep. It was at this moment in verse 17 that the prodigal son realized he was a lost sheep in need of a good shepherd. When he “... came to his senses,” he came back to his father and his father welcomed him with open arms.
There is good news for you today. There is a good Father who is not only waiting for you to return to His loving arms but also a good Father who runs to meet you when you repent. If you lied, come back. If you cheated, come back.
Repent today! It’s never too late to come back to the Father’s loving arms!
