Where Do We Come From?নমুনা
Approached by God
“But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, ‘Where are you?’” (Genesis 3:9)
Let this question sink in. Man has sinned against God. That is why he is hiding. He no longer dares to face his creator.
God is perfectly aware of what happened. He also knows that Adam and Eve are trying to avoid Him. Therefore, He takes the initiative; He seeks them out. And that is not a one-time event. God seeking out people is a recurring refrain in the Bible as an expression of His mercy. Sometimes people are seeking the Lord. But far more often they run away from Him. They are afraid to face Him, or they have no desire at all to account for their actions. And yet there is God’s voice: Where are you?
God does not seek us humans just to punish us. On the contrary. He knows that ultimately we can only find true happiness with Him, and He wants to offer it to us. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) God wants a personal relationship with every single human, which includes you. Have you already accepted His invitation, or are you still hiding?
