Reading With the People of God #8 Peaceনমুনা
Peace in God’s Plans
Scripture:
Proverbs 16:9 — "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."
Reflection:
This year may not have gone exactly as you planned, but God has been working through it all. His purpose often unfolds in ways we don’t anticipate. Take some time to reflect:
- Where do you see God’s hand guiding you this past year?
- What unfinished hopes or dreams can you entrust to Him as you enter the new year?
Prayer:
Spend a few moments talking with the Lord about His plans for your life. Reflect on where you noticed His guidance this past year, and ask Him to show you where He is leading you in the year ahead.
Sample Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for guiding me, even when my plans didn’t turn out the way I expected. Help me rest in the peace that comes from trusting Your perfect purpose. As I move into the new year, I place my hopes in Your hands and ask You to direct my steps according to Your will. Amen.

About this Plan
Fear touches every life—whether through childhood worries, family anxieties, or mistakes we try to avoid. But Advent invites us to hope for a new reality ruled by peace, not fear. The Son of God entered our broken world to comfort us, overcome fear, and bring lasting peace. May His gospel of peace fill your heart throughout this Advent season! This month’s reading plan follows the lectionary pattern with daily passages from the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament, accompanied by Advent devotionals in partnership with 1517.org on the theme of Peace.
