Faith at Work: A Plan for Business Leadersনমুনা
This verse is not only good advice for life - it is a philosophy to live by.
Through thick and thin, regardless of anything that you may face, it is our imperative to trust God and His Plan. Even when we think we can do better, even if it seems unconscionable, we trust God instead.
One of the areas that my wife and I felt like we needed to trust God was in our finances.
We try our best to live a modest life and use a more significant percentage to bless the Kingdom of God. And to do that - you really need to trust God with all your heart.
I learned this lesson in a very difficult way.
I made some really poor decisions at one point in my life. Fortunately, I was able to get out of a difficult situation, but I hadn’t trusted in God or walked with integrity regarding those decisions.
My wife and I chatted and we realized together that we would need to rectify that situation. But this would come at great cost. I would need to sell the business to put this right, but I also would come under quite intense and humiliating scrutiny.
It was an Abraham and Isaac moment. We chose to do the right thing and go through the fire, trusting God as we did so.
Making that call was one of the hardest decisions of my life, but as soon as we did it, I felt that God reassured us that we had done the right thing.
We then started a completely different business which God blessed more than my wildest dreams. That business went far further and did much better than the previous one - we have been able to bless so many others through it.
Our lives haven’t been perfect - life hasn’t been a box of birds BUT we have seen God’s Hand again and again as we trusted in Him.
In our worship and obedience to God, we found His favor. We obeyed, we trusted, and God came through. Now we realize that our ministry isn’t in front of people - but in secret.
As you read this verse today, remember that the best thing that you can do is trust and obey God.
