The Deliverer Has Come: A 5-Day Reading Plan for Kidsনমুনা
Day 5: Waiting Together
“We’ve been waiting for You,” Anika whispered. “I feel like the whole world has been waiting for You to come.”
Waiting is still hard. Just as Anika waited for Jesus to come, we wait for Jesus to answer our prayers and to be our deliverer. He loves each and every one of us, and He loves the whole world. As we wait on Him, we learn the stories about our neighbors and people around the world who need Jesus to rescue them from all the wrong things in the world. We pray for each other and ask that God would rescue them and deliver us today.
Questions/Activities:
- Draw a picture of the earth. As you pray for people around the world, put a dot or sticker on that part of the world.
- Who else around you needs to know God’s help and rescue? Learn about a country or people group that is different from your own. Pray that God would provide for what they need each day and that they would know His loving power and provision in their lives.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You love the world. Please help and rescue people around the world today. Show me how to love the world with Your love.

About this Plan
Inspired by the picture book of the same name, this devotional will help families with young children learn about the hope and promise of Jesus’s birth. Just as Advent prepares us to remember Jesus’s coming to a people and a world that was waiting for rescue, children will be invited to prayerfully trust in God and wait on Him to answer prayers as they wait.
