EquipHer Vol. 3: "Intentionally Crafting Connections"

DAY 1 OF 5

Day 1: The Power of Intentional Relationships

Relationships shape who we become. Some friends inspire us to grow closer to God and achieve our goals, while others may drain our energy or steer us off course. To build intentional relationships, we must recognize that while not every connection needs to be deep, they can still enrich our lives. As Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, "Two are better than one... if either of them falls down, one can help the other up." This Scripture emphasizes the importance of surrounding ourselves with individuals who support our growth and aspirations.

Think of Jonathan and David. Their friendship was more than just a social connection—it was a partnership that encouraged both spiritual and emotional growth (1 Samuel 18:1-4). Jonathan’s support gave David strength when he faced challenges. Relationships like this, grounded in mutual trust and shared faith, provide the emotional support and accountability we need in life.

Take a moment to reflect on your relationships. Do your closest connections push you toward growth, or do they hold you back? God calls us to be intentional about the company we keep, ensuring that the people closest to us support our spiritual and professional journeys.

Practical Exercise: Make a list of three people who play a significant role in your life. Write down how each person influences you. Do they encourage your spiritual growth and professional development? How do they align with your values and goals?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of relationships. Help me to recognize the people who align with Your purpose for my life. Give me the courage to nurture those friendships that lead me closer to You and to set healthy boundaries with those who do not. Amen.
