Breathe

DAY 15 OF 20

Have you ever had to move a heavy piece of furniture? Even if you’re only shifting it a few inches in your space, you have to have help to do it. You simply can’t carry something that heavy, that bulky, that big on your own, right? Well, in the same way, God calls us to carry one another’s burdens. When we’re facing a struggle, walking through despair, battling a challenging circumstance, or just down and out in life, we don’t have to manage the weight of it on our own. Instead, as Christians, we can lean on one another for support, help, and comfort.

We can lean on each other to carry the weight of what we’re facing in this life every single day. That’s one of the joys of following Jesus! Not only do we walk in close relationship with Him, but we can walk in close relationship with other believers. We can find support and be support to others because of our common bond in Jesus. This is what it means to carry each other’s burdens. This is what it means to fulfill the law of Christ.

Memorize this verse sometime this week. Say it as a prayer to yourself daily, letting it be a reminder of what God calls you to do for others and what fellow believers can do for you.

About this Plan

Breathe

Few things in life are more important than breathing. It’s what keeps us going and living. This isn’t a devotional on the science of breathing. Instead, we’re talking about what it looks like to create breathing room in parts of our everyday lives. From faith to finances to friendship to so much more, we’re diving into the benefits of slowing down, pausing, and giving these areas of our lives room to breathe.
