When God Hides
When we think of languages, we immediately think of symbols, letters, sounds, people speaking in strange words. When I read this verse, “I heard a language that I did not understand,” God showed me something different. We think that God moves like we do and that we can fit Him into our “box of known things,” but God is infinite, and His language surpasses our understanding. When God speaks, He does so out of love. God speaks to us in different ways because He wants us to be able to know His love and to understand the message He wants to give us. “Hidden among the stormy clouds, I answered your call,” it says in the PDT version. “I answered you from the dark cloud where I was hidden,” according to the contemporary language translation.
God responds through the language we don’t know. Through the language of darkness, through the language of the secret, through the language of the storm. Of course, we want clarity, we want the sound to be simple and concrete, and to be honest. God can speak that way too. For God, it’s not complicated to speak loudly and clearly, and in our language...
But there are times when He also uses “a language we don’t know.” From the darkness, there God is hidden. God has not left you alone, even if with your open eyes, all you see is darkness. Darkness can produce uncertainty, but if we know that there is a hidden light, that although we cannot perceive this light, we can trust. You may be in darkness, or you may be on a radiant day, and that makes me very happy, but if you are in that dark situation, God is also answering you.
“I answer you,” says God. “When you were distressed, you called out to me and I delivered you.” He did not stop listening to you. He did not stop saving you. And His answer to deliver you was certain, although perhaps you could not see it. God has a language in the midst of your darkness; it's not that He hasn't answered you; it's just a language you don't know yet.
He has already answered you. He delivers you from heavy burdens. He delivered you from anguish. And He will continue to do so. He is your God. He is not worried, and He knows that you are worried. And He knows that He can answer any kind of request and give you more than enough.
God loves you, and yes, He is in that dark cloud; do not be afraid.

About this Plan
For those who yearn for clarity, who seek a ray of light amidst their circumstances, who do not understand the reason for the darkness, for those whom God is shaping in the darkness, saying to them, "There is still hope." God is here too.
