Nine Biblical Principles for Judging Prophecy

DAY 7 OF 10

The Bible says, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (2 Corinthians 3:17, KJV). True prophecy will bring liberty to the individual, not bondage. Any form of control over another person by intimidation, manipulation, or domination is witchcraft. False prophecy will lead to witchcraft.

Spiritual dependency on any person to receive a word from the Lord is not a healthy relationship. A church or prayer group led by someone who wants to act like the pope and “hear from God for you” is on the road to confusion, deception, and control by the persons upon whom it becomes dependent. Hear Me! Don’t get hooked on anyone but Jesus!

The Scripture says, “Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13, NKJV). But the men who used the name of Jesus wrongly lost their souls because they were false prophets, saying one thing but living another.

It is the shepherd who spots the trouble and exposes it to the sheep, which is a defenseless creature lacking in basic intelligence. Here are 11 ways to spot a wolf in sheep’s clothing. These are the fruit of the flesh, and some may be demonic.

Profile of a False Prophet:
1. Pride and egotism
2. Arrogance
3. Boastfulness
4. Exaggeration
5. Dishonesty
6. Covetousness
7. Financial Irresponsibility
8. Licentiousness
9. Immorality
10. Addictive appetites or habits
11. Confusion in the home

The first thing a false prophet or any person in deception will tell you is, “Don’t judge me!” You are not judging; you are checking his fruit. What constitutes judging, and what constitutes fruit inspection?

Judging is when you have two Christians side by side and you make an inward decision as to which one of them is the most spiritual. That’s judging. Only God can see the heart and know the motive.

When Al Capone and Mother Teresa stand side by side and Al tells you not to judge him for his lying, rape, murder, tax evasion, etc., you aren’t judging him when you call him a child of the devil. That’s what he is. His fruit declares it, and for you to say anything else would place your intelligence in question.
