Just as Hezekiah had done, Josiah celebrates the Passover. As always, it involves many animal sacrifices to cover the sins of the nation. Judah is a nation that exists between more powerful nations in Egypt to the south and Assyria and Babylon to the north. He is honored in death despite his death in what was probably a foolish battle.

This is the way to live life! Josiah’s desire to obey God started at a young age and lasted throughout and he is mourned in death by those faithful to God. It may be too late for some to start at a young age, but anyone can begin today.
