Becoming a Woman of Grace, Faith & Courage: Modern Day Women of the Bibleনমুনা
Day 4: Sarah
The story of Sarah (originally named Sarai) and her husband Abraham (originally named Abram) is well known among the first signs of God’s promises to those who are faithful and obedient.
Now, let’s take a look at this story, God went to Abraham and asked Him to uproot his entire family to go to a foreign/unfamiliar place which Abraham did without one question asked. The Lord went on to promise him many things, one of which was a son.
What’s of note here is that both Sarah and Abraham were well past child-bearing years, but how many of us know that God’s power isn't limited by logic?
God is not a man of logic, but a man of faith and supernatural power. After years of waiting for God to fulfill His promise, at almost 90 years of age Sarah, conceived and named her Son Isaac just as the Lord had said. This story is a sweet and gentle reminder that God’s words never return void. We serve a God who fulfills His promise.
Are you waiting on God to fulfill a promise that He may have revealed to you? How can you remain faithful in the “waiting season”?
