A Crown That Lasts by Demi-Leigh Tebowনমুনা
Saved from Our Setbacks
Most of us like a good comeback story. I know I do! Seeing someone choose not to let a setback have the final word inspires and motivates us. It makes us believe anything is possible.
While setbacks are never fun, these obstacles in life do not signify the end of the journey. If you choose to view yourself as a coworker with God in His story, you can ask Him to help you find meaning in your setbacks, partner with Him through next steps, and discover joy in knowing you are beloved no matter how real the obstacles you’re facing or the odds that are stacked against you. It starts in the mind.
Building a powerful mindset is the antidote to falling into the temptation to quit trying and to give into frustration and despair after you failed the test, the relationship ended, the job fell through, or your idea flopped. Rejections, detours, and unforeseen twists are as much a part of the process as celebrating wins. When we choose to use the lows not as stopping points but as stepping stones, a world of possibility opens. We become stronger. We build our faith muscles. We bolster our character. We learn to rely on the Lord and not our own strength. And we listen more carefully to where He’s leading us next.
Comebacks are possible. Why? Because we are not alone. God is with us every step of the way. His presence, love, mercy, and grace remain, and He is faithful to make us “strong, firm and steadfast” (1 Peter 5:10), even when our circumstances change. Best of all, we can champion our comebacks because His Son Jesus ushered in the biggest comeback in all of history when He conquered death and rose again.
Regardless of the feelings of doubt, insecurity, inadequacy, or uncertainty you may wrestle with, knowing that you are a child of God and lining up your priorities, your focus, and your future with His eternal kingdom is a mental game-changer. When you are synced up to the Creator of this universe, no matter what happens, you can be confident knowing He will complete His good work in you (Philippians 1:6).
Pray:
Thank you, God, that no matter setbacks I face, in your goodness and grace you will strengthen me to overcome as I trust in you. Amen.

About this Plan
You only need to open your phone, look in that doctor’s eyes, have a loved one cut you off, watch a dream collapse, or embark on a lonely cross-country move to feel stranded, starting over, and confused about your identity. I pray that through these devotionals you’ll feel less alone and glimpse who you are, what really matters, and what to do when you're stuck in the messy middle.
