Freedom - God's Goals for Your Finances

DAY 4 OF 4

Day 4 - Freedom to Be Generous

We've talked about breaking free from greed and debt. Now, let's look at the best kind of financial freedom, being free to give generously.

Many of us hold onto our money tightly. It's often the last thing we're willing to hand over to God. But when we really understand that everything we have comes from God, it changes how we think about giving.

The Bible tells us, "Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth" (Deuteronomy 8:18). This is a game-changer. When we see God as our provider, we're not scared of running out. Instead, we become excited about sharing what He's given us.

Being generous isn't just about money. It's about our time, skills, and resources too. God has given us these things not just for ourselves, but to help build His Kingdom. When we start giving freely, we're showing others what God is like.

Jesus said, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21). As we learn to be more generous, we find ourselves caring more about the things God cares about. This brings a kind of peace and happiness that money can't buy.

Remember, having more money doesn't make you better than anyone else. It means God has trusted you with more responsibility. As we grow in generosity, we get to be part of God's plan to bless others. This brings way more joy than keeping everything for ourselves ever could.

Reflection
Think about how you approach giving. How might your giving change if you really believed that everything you have comes from God? Ask God to help you use your resources wisely and to show you ways to bless others.
