There are lots of things you can do to prepare for marriage.

For example, as a woman, you can focus on finding and rooting your identity in Christ. Instead of seeking validation from external sources like material possessions or physical appearance, root your worth in who Jesus says you are — a beloved child of God. It's important not to rely on your future spouse to complete you, as you’ll both inevitably make mistakes. With your identity rooted in Christ, you can navigate the ups and downs of marriage with grace, knowing that your guidance and comfort come from Him.

Also, developing practical skills such as homemaking, effective communication, and conflict resolution are invaluable. Proverbs 31:10-31 describes a "wife of noble character," highlighting the virtues of strength, selflessness, and diligence that contribute to a healthy and supportive marriage.

As a man, you can work to understand your role as a loving and responsible husband. Start by growing in your relationship with Christ and seeking to embody His love and sacrifice. Colossians 3:19 instructs husbands to love their wives and not be harsh with them, highlighting the importance of gentleness and kindness.

Men should also learn practical skills like managing finances, resolving conflicts, and providing emotional support. Being physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy prepares you to handle the responsibilities of marriage with resilience and grace. By focusing on personal growth and aligning your actions with biblical principles, you can create a strong foundation for a Christ-centered marriage.
