Control Freak?!নমুনা
Command and control?
When you think of the word ‘control’ what image does it conjure up? I tend to think of an army sergeant shouting orders harshly in the faces of poor trainee soldiers. We can think of someone having control over us as a bad thing, which of course can be the case. But giving God the control of our lives is only ever a good thing, though admittedly not an easy thing to do.
We all have free will, we have full choice to give God the control - or to keep the control to ourselves. There’s no force, God wants us to yield to him willingly not under duress. It’s important to note, that God wants us as his friends and partners in spreading his good news, not as his slaves or people he wants to ‘use’ in the negative sense of the word. He wants to involve you in his incredible plan to bring hope and life to this difficult world we live in.
Jesus said: ‘My yoke is easy and my burden is light’ (Matt 11:30). God deals with us gently, he doesn’t shout harsh orders at us sergeant major style. He leads us beside still waters, he restores our souls (Psalm 28:1-3). He gives us the desires of our hearts as we delight in him (Psalm 37:4). He created the world and he created you and has good works that he planned in advance for you to do (Ephesians 2:10). You can have a unique impact on this planet. Giving control to God, is submitting to the one who has your best interests at heart. It is unlikely to be an easy life, living as a Christian is incredibly costly. But I honestly believe yielding control to God is the best and most fulfilling use of our short lives on earth.
Reflection & Prayer - Pray the scripture from Psalm 31:14-15. Can you honestly say that you trust God and that you will put your times in his hands?
Bonus Fun Fact - Your TV remote may well be holding more germs than your toilet seat. Do yourself a favour today and get an anti-bac wipe all over it!
