Faith for the Fertility Journey a 3-Day Plan by Allison Dolcy Danielsনমুনা
Day 2
I was so angry at God.
“Why would you let this happen to me!” “You’re taking everything from me!”
Here was the big one I dared to utter to the Holy One, “I served you!”
I had just been informed that I was going to need surgery five. My emotions drove me into a downward spiral of sin and rebellion because I felt God had let me down.
I was tired of the doctor’s appointments and exhausted from the ongoing physical pain. I was done trusting a God who never seemed to answer.
I woke up in the hospital recovery unit wondering why it was so dark. My anesthesia-filled brain knew something was wrong. “Where’s my mom? I should be home by now and it’s dark outside.” The nurse answered, “There were some complications and you’re going to have to stay…”
Reading the surgical report later, I was confronted with what had happened.
The goodness of God spared my life in that operating room.
In my anger, my sin, turning my back on Him I found He loved me enough to protect me from the surgery error. He didn’t let my messy heart get in the way of His mercy.
As I drove away from the doctor’s office, I began to weep hearing David Crowder on the radio singing:
Come out of sadness
From wherever you've been
Come broken hearted
Let rescue begin
Come find your mercy
Oh, sinner come kneel
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't heal
God had been good when I did not deserve it. I immediately remembered Psalm 119:68 “You are good and do good. Teach me your statutes.”
I suddenly realized God had never failed me. His way is always good and kind.
Sweet sister, I share my story to proclaim that truth in your heart today - God is always good. Maybe you’re angry too. Disappointed. Grieving all that has transpired, yet nothing we have suffered changes who God is.
Earth has no sorrow heaven can’t heal. Accept God’s invitation. Look to Him so he can show you his good and perfect ways.
