I Am Not Alone!

DAY 3 OF 3

Day 3: You Are Not Alone. God Is Always with You.

Returning to yesterday’s lesson, the setting of the first chapter of the book of Joshua is life after the death of Moses. Joshua, who was Moses’ successor, now had the mission of leading the Israelite people. Moses, Joshua's beloved mentor and leader, was gone.

Well acquainted with God’s miraculous works through Moses as well as Moses’ challenges in leading the people, Joshua now had the job of leading the Israelites to possess the Promised Land. Can you imagine Joshua’s trepidation?

Ever encouraging, God assured Joshua of His steadfast support in declaring, “No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you” (Joshua 1:5, NLT).

I interpret God’s assurance as a declaration that with Him, Joshua would not fail. Since God is no respecter of persons, I encourage you to receive God’s assurance for your own situation. Just as God was with Moses and Joshua, so is He with you. God will not fail or desert you.

Recommended Actions: Study Romans 8:38-39 and make it your personal declaration of God’s steadfast love for you:

Romans 8:38-39, NLT: “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love...nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
