Contentment

I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.

PHILIPPIANS 4:11 NKJV

The Bible promises that contentment can be ours if we honor God’s commandments and follow, as closely as we can, in the footsteps of His Son. But the world seeks to sell you a different brand of contentment. The world promises that “happiness and serenity” can be purchased…at the right price. The world’s marketers perpetuate the misconception that lasting satisfaction is for sale at the local mall, but nothing could be further from the truth. Genuine peace is not for sale at any price.

So where will you find contentment today? Will you trust God to provide it, or will you expect the world to do the job?

If you expect the world to provide a sense of serenity and peace, you’ll be disappointed sooner or later (probably sooner). But if you turn your heart and your life over to the One from Galilee, you’ll be blessed now (and forever)…and you’ll be content.

No matter what you’re facing, embrace life in trust and contentment based on your faith in Jesus.
