“Who am I?” “Where do I belong?” These are two of the biggest questions we as human beings ask. Maybe we’re asking overtly, consciously looking to define who we are or where we fit in. Or maybe we’re asking or seeking without even realizing it! We’re searching for something we can’t exactly name or define. Regardless, the human experience has placed a longing in us to figure out exactly who we are and where we fit in this world. The good news is our answer is found in the truths God told us in Scripture.
Because of Jesus, we never have to wonder about who we’re meant to be and where we’re meant to belong. Because of God’s love for us, we have an identity that’s rooted in Him. We are His children, and because of that, we belong to the family of God. When we’re struggling to remember who we are and where we fit in this world, we can root ourselves in this truth to remind ourselves of the identity we’re given in God, our Father.
This week, take time to share the truth in this Scripture with someone in your life. As you do, talk to them about what it means to you to be called a child of God and welcomed into God’s family. If they’re a believer in Jesus, ask them to share what it means to them too. And if they’re not, take the opportunity to share a little more about what faith in Jesus means to you.

About this Plan
Like a plant, our root system—our identity—is vitally important to our health. It’s how you see yourself in light of God, others, and the world. It’s what holds you when life changes, threatens, or causes you to question what’s true about you! We’ll look at how a healthy identity rooted in who God is will keep us strong, vibrant, and grounded no matter what comes our way.
