Grace-Filled Motherhood

DAY 9 OF 14

Loving God

Read: 1 John 4:20-5:4

SOAP: 1 John 5:3

"For this is the love of God: that we keep his commandments. And his commandments do not weigh us down."

Into the Text

Sweet sister,

We are called to love God with our whole life and everything in it. When we choose to live a life of obedience to God, it shows our love for Him. Obedience motivated out of love is the goal. We love because Jesus first loved us (1 John 4:19). We can pass a life of love on to our children, which means being fully surrendered to Christ.

From the moment we wake up to the time our heads hit our pillows, our lives speak to the never-ending, always and forever love of our Heavenly Father. Make no mistake, we are called to model God’s love and teach our children what it means to love God. We do this through choosing to obey Him.

When we choose to love and obey God in the daily rhythms of life, we invite His presence into both the mundane and the monumental. We can’t forget that our children are watching. As they grow, they learn to dance to the same melody of love for their Creator, a tune first hummed by us.

This love for God is our truest legacy, more precious than gold. It’s the hush in the night when fears are calmed and the joy in the morning when His mercies are new. Our love for God becomes the blueprint for a life well-lived, etching His truths into the hearts of our children.

As we embrace each day, let us weave love into every act of service, every word of kindness, every embrace. For in loving God, we reflect His heart to the world, especially to our children, who learn first by receiving our love.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, fill my heart with a love for You that overflows, touching every part of my life. May my love for You be evident, teaching my children to seek You, to cherish You, and to love You with all their hearts. Amen.

About this Plan

Grace-Filled Motherhood

Motherhood is a calling! In the struggles of motherhood, we are given opportunities to be molded into Christ’s image and reflect His character to those around us. In the gift of motherhood, we have the incredible privilege to shape, nurture, and love our children in a way that reflects the heart of God. Over the next 14 days we will deepen our understanding of motherhood through God's Word.
