Regain Your Trust in Godনমুনা
Will God save me when I am in trouble?
I remember the testimony of a young lady years ago. She grew up in a Christian home but forsook God for other religions. She told how she did many rituals as part of her then religion to help protect her from evil. One night she woke up when four men had broken into her house and were in her bedroom, ready to assault her. She realized that her many chants and rituals had no power at all. The moment one of the men wanted to attack her, she remembered her praying mother's words urging her to call upon the name of Jesus whenever she is in trouble. She desperately cried out for the Lord Jesus Christ to help her. The four men froze instantly, it looked like they had seen a ghost! She told us how they fled her room and home within one minute! She was shocked and completely surrendered her life to God after that event, going about and testifying how God is faithful whenever we call upon His Name from a truly surrendered heart.
Perhaps you have faced difficult situations and feel that God has not "come through for you" or "protected you." Consider some of these past events in prayer before the Lord today.
Then honestly answer the following:
>> Do you habitually invite Him to be part of important decisions you make or projects you take on?
>> Do you regularly spend time in prayer, even fasting, to confirm that the direction you are going in is from Him?
>> Scripture says that there is wisdom in the counsel of many (Proverbs 11:14) Do you ever share what you felt you heard from the Lord with a trusted Christian friend, asking them to pray with you about the matter?
These are important questions to consider for your way forward. They are safeguards from the Lord, guidelines to protect us from making mistakes in and throughout our lives. Perhaps you have another decision or project for consideration right before you now. Will you not pause a while to make sure that this time you listen more carefully? Also, invite a friend to listen with you for direction from the Lord.
