All Who Are Weary: God Is My Comfortনমুনা
God is My Comfort
May your unfailing love be my comfort,
according to your promise to your servant. -Psalm 119:76
In the sleepless nights, in the hours of the day that drag on, in the internal wrestling we can’t seem to stop, it feels like no one truly understands what we’re experiencing. It can be discouraging, when nothing seems to soothe the raw and rubbed places in our bodies and minds.
In the discomfort of an aching mind and heart, it can be hard to find relief. Sometimes we sit and wonder how in the world we can get through another night. Sometimes, we are helpless to do anything but endure.
Can we be comforted? When we’re trapped in our minds and it feels like there’s no way out, God always has a way. And He absolutely never leaves. God brings comfort in subtle ways, and we need to tune our eyes to see when they appear. Sometimes, it’s in the perfectly timed encouragement of a friend. Or a song lyric that strikes exactly what we’re feeling. Or stepping outside to feel the cool breeze on our skin.
He comes to us with comfort. And for us who believe in Jesus as the Son of God, we have the Holy Spirit who resides in us. He fights for us, consoles us, and He takes up our troubles and brings our unspoken groans and longings to the Lord on our behalf. God is our great Comforter; of that, we’re guaranteed.
Remember: God is my comfort.
