Jesus Among Us: Walking With Him in His Ministry and Miraclesনমুনা
Running to Jesus
When Jesus was on earth, people responded to Him in diverse ways: there were groups who wanted Him to leave their presence, groups who reacted to Him in fear, religious leaders who made claims He was a patron of Satan, and others who couldn’t get enough of Him.
Today, people respond differently to Jesus as well. Some of us get so busy living our lives that we miss Jesus in the midst of our everyday routines. Some acknowledge Him but never put in any effort to know or follow Him. Some appreciate Jesus as a wonderful teacher but don’t accept Him as the Son of God. Many people reject the idea of Jesus entirely. But how many of us energetically seek Him out and run to Him?
During Jesus’s ministry, quite a few people followed Him wherever He went. They searched for Him everywhere and longed to be in His presence, even begging to be allowed just to touch the fringe of His robe. From the stories they’d heard, they believed in His healing power.
We all get to choose how we respond to Jesus, how diligently we pursue Him. He reveals Himself to those who seek Him and draw near. It’s up to us what we do with our knowledge of Jesus’s power and sacrifice for us. Hopefully, it’s along the lines of running to Him in gratefulness and love with a hard-driven passion.
How have you been responding to Jesus lately?
How will you respond to Jesus today?
Jesus, I know that my actions are my own, and my decisions are my own. You always want me to seek You more. Help me to draw near to You on a more consistent basis. Give me an unflinching passion for You so I can continue pursuing You, no matter what the circumstances. In Your name, amen.
