At the end of every week we'll give you a challenge—something to try that might be outside your regular routine. Each challenge is designed to help you develop one important spiritual habit. This week, it's...
SPEND TIME WITH GOD
There's no formula or one right way to spend time with God. Whether you already know how you like to spend time with God, or you're still trying to understand how to hear God's voice, today's challenge is going to help you experiment with some new ways of connecting with God. Try it and see what you discover about God—and about yourself, too!
CHALLENGE
This week, spend time with God while you do something you're passionate about. Not sure where to begin? Consider this...
- WHAT'S SOMETHING YOU WOULD MISS IF IT WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO YOU? If you aren't sure what you're passionate about, imagine that thing gone from your life. Would you be sad if you could no longer bake, do gymnastics, or visit the animal shelter? If so, there's a chance that thing matters more to you than other actions in your life.
- WHAT ARE THE QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS OF GOD YOU HOPE TO EMBODY? Which of God's qualities do you see through the thing you're passionate about? It could be grace, love, or beauty. It could be a desire to create or to repair what's broken. Make a list of the characteristics of God and circle the ones that match your passion.
- WHAT WILL BE MADE BETTER BY YOUR ACTION? It could be by doing what you're passionate about, you can have an impact on others. That's great! But it's also okay to simply spend time with God. Even that will make a positive impact on your heart.
God cares about the things that matter to us. When we take the actions that make us feel alive and invite God to join us in them, we create good things in this world.

About this Plan
Coaches create the strategy, put together a game plan, and send their players out to make it happen. Wouldn't it be nice for someone to do that for all of our decisions? In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore Proverbs and Epistles to help us learn how God guides us toward wisdom and helps us make godly decisions.
