DAY 21 OF 28

At the end of every week, we'll give you a challenge—something to try that might be outside your regular routine. Each challenge is designed to help you develop one important spiritual habit. This week, it's...

USE YOUR GIFTS

God has given all of us unique gifts. Whether it's your skills, talents, character traits, experiences, lessons learned, or even some of the stuff you own, you have a lot you can share with others. Today's challenge is going to help you think about the gifts God has uniquely given you, and how you can use those gifts to love God and others. Because when we use our gifts for God, we grow!

CHALLENGE

Sometimes, when we feel stuck, God guides us forward by providing a fresh perspective. It could be our old way of doing things is no longer working. Today, pick one (or two) of the activities below to help you see things from a new angle.

  1. DO A PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT TOOL AND LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF: We often feel stuck when comparing ourselves to others. We think we're lagging behind or not good enough because of what we see others doing. Take time today to learn more about how you're wired. Once you better understand yourself, you may see better ways of serving others.
  2. TRY A NEW HOBBY: Doing something new can reveal fresh ways of seeing ourselves and the world. Look for an activity or skill that will break up old ways of interacting with the world and push your perspective. Hands-on classes like art, dance, or cooking are a great place to start!
  3. SHARE YOUR ENERGY BY DOING SOMETHING FOR SOMEONE ELSE: One way to get unstuck is by noticing those around us who are also stuck. List people in your life who might feel stuck this week, and consider how you can help. These people might include someone in your apartment building who can't shop for their groceries, a classmate who needs tutoring, or a parent who needs someone to watch their younger kid after school.

About this Plan

Restart

In video games, when you face challenges and make mistakes there's always the option to start over. In real life, it's not so easy to recover, but Jesus gives us a chance to restart — no matter how difficult our circumstances. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll look at people who needed God's help to give them a restart and discover how to trust God's promises.
