Following Christ

DAY 11 OF 12

Follow Him With Your Whole Body

Following Jesus will involve each of us needing to take the step out to obey Him. While it is vital to read His word and to allow Him to shape our heart and mind, it is equally important to do what He asks of us. Will you go where He leads, speak what He asks you to speak and do what He asks you to do?

That’s the big question.

Our obedience to God says a lot about the quality of our discipleship. A disciple is one who obeys God at all costs. The problem with us often is that we choose to selectively obey God. We find some things easy to do while some are harder or seemingly impossible. Such incomplete obedience is total disobedience in the eyes of God.

What has God been impressing on you to do?

Has He been speaking to you about reconciling with someone?

Has He been nudging you to end a toxic relationship?

Has He been asking you to share your salvation story with someone at work? Have you been sensing that you should pray for that college friend?

Do what God asks you to do with complete trust that He who calls you is with you and will carry forth His work to completion.

When the Spirit of God touches hearts and minds, He leaves us transformed and ready to obey God in action. Faith without deeds is dead. So when you know that God is calling you to step out and follow Him, follow His lead. He will never lead you where His grace won’t sustain you and where His presence won’t overshadow you.

WHO we follow is all important. We follow the ONE TRUE GOD. So try not to get carried away by pastors, leaders, worship leaders, celebrities or personalities. Instead follow Christ!

Declaration: I will follow Jesus with all my heart, mind and strength!
