Why Won't God Just Tell Me What to Do ?নমুনা
Day II: Interview with God
One day, I stumbled upon the movie "Interview with God" on Netflix, and boy, did it catch my attention! Who wouldn't want a sit-down chat with the Big Guy Upstairs? But as I got into the movie, I pondered, "What on earth would I even ask God if I had the chance?" Would I be too tongue-tied, knowing He already knows what's in my head? Or would I be too blown away by the sheer Presence of Divinity to even form a coherent sentence or ask a question?
One scene that caught my attention was when the main character questioned God about the whole concept of His Will versus our free will. The response from "God" in the movie was pretty intriguing, to say the least...
“If everyone waited on Me to tell them My Will before they did anything, then they would be at a halt and wake up every day wondering whether they should brush their teeth vertically or horizontally. Every choice you make has a consequence, but in the midst of your free will you meet My Will.”
At first, this puzzled me. I found myself reading the Bible the rest of the night and woke up still wondering what I should do about my situation. I then was taken back by this Scripture during my morning devotional time:
"Nathan replied to the king, "Whatever you have in mind, go ahead and do it, for the Lord is with you." - 2 Samuel 7:3
Key phrase, "...the Lord is with you."
I always remind my friends that as long as your intentions are good, your heart is pure, and you're seeking God's Guidance, whatever choice you make, God will guide you. He'll redirect, open doors, close others—whatever it takes to keep you on the right track. And why do I believe this? Because the Lord is with you every step of the way.
Reflection: What solutions have you come up with for your current situation? Do these solutions align with God's Ways, His Heart, or His Mindset? Are there any similar stories or situations in the Bible that you can draw inspiration from? And perhaps most importantly, are your intentions pure and genuine?
