Salty Lemonade: A Refreshing Twist on the Recipe for Overcoming Adversityনমুনা
If we do life and tragedy like the world does it, how will people know the difference in the God we serve or serving no god at all? Of course, Christians are not perfect. That particular label has gotten us into trouble over the centuries. When the world expects perfection of Christians, we are often labeled hypocrites when we display anything different. This is why our salty lifestyle is a key part of this challenge.
Think of an area of your life where you are particularly challenged at the moment. Are you under stress in a certain area? Is there a recent tragedy or trauma that you are trying to recover from? Have you received a negative report from the doctor or had a family member go rogue after all of your attempts to fix them? This is the area where we often end up in the weeds – when things are out of our control. Not having control of a situation is a perfect opportunity to place God back on the throne of your life. When things are well and all systems are go in our lives, we have a tendency to think we can handle matters in our own strength. This is why the Apostle Paul reminds us that God’s strength is made perfect when we are weak. Count it a privilege to be weak right now. You have the amazing opportunity of a lifetime to know Christ as the strong and grace-filled Savior that he wants to be in your life.
Your Day Two Challenge is to take our current area of weakness and transfer it to Jesus. Write it on a piece of paper, take it in both hands and literally hand it over to Him. Pray for peace where you have been holding onto this thing in your mind and heart. Ask God to guide you daily in walking out your process of letting it go.
Confess out loud:
I am free of worry from _____.
I am using my new freedom to enjoy life.
I can trust God with the outcome of _____.
His grace is all I need to continue to surrender _____.
Now, watch God go to work on your behalf!

About this Plan
The Salty Lemonade 10-Day Challenge takes the old adage "When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade" and brings a Kingdom perspective. As Believers we are called to be salt and light in the world, so it makes sense that during times of adversity, trouble and crisis we are especially mindful of the way we navigate those seasons.
