KEY 5: Open your mouth and sing!

When we feel overwhelmed by the cares of life, the hardest thing may be to think you must actually sing out loud! However, if you can muster enough strength and courage to actually start singing out loud, or just humming or whistling, or listen to some worship music, you will be surprised at how it shifts the atmosphere in the room, in your heart, in your mind and in your emotions!

The devil was in charge of praise and worship in heaven before he fell into pride and was kicked out of heaven (Revelation 12:9).He knows the power of praise and worship and will do everything in his power to stop you from opening your mouth and heart in praising and worshipping God.

Just think about Paul and Silas. At midnight, while in prison, they were praying and singing hymns to God. Suddenly there was an earthquake. The foundations of the prison were shaken, and all the doors opened and everyone's chains were loosed! (Acts 16:25-26).

That is the power of singing to God!

Therefore, make a clear decision here and now – not to be intimidated by any form of resistance, oppression or depression any longer. The Lord is so worthy of our praise and worship. It moves His heart to do wonders and miracles.
