Prayer, a Privilege!নমুনা
God listens carefully
“Because he has inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live” (Psalm 116:2).
When and how did you learn to pray? Most Christians agree on the great merit of prayer. At the same time, for many Christians, the way of persistent prayer is one of searching, getting stuck, and starting all over again. Someone described prayer this way: 'prayer is the place where God and man meet.' Why is prayer important? Of all believers in the Bible, you read that, in whatever form, they turn to God and speak with HIm.
As children of God, it is a kind of 'second nature’ to turn to our heavenly Father. To thank Him for the good in our life, to call on Him when we are having a hard time, to confess to Him what we did wrong. Or to bring the needs of those around us to God the Father. It is a privilege that God has given to us humans. He looks forward to seeing us turn to Him. Psalm 116 verse 2 puts it beautifully: He listens to me. Some translations put it this way: "He has turned his ear to me" (WEB). Can you picture it? God attentively turning His ear to you to listen to what you say. Even your whisper or a sigh He perceives.
Prayer: Thank You, Father in heaven, that You listen attentively to every word I speak to You and that, when I cannot find the words, even my groanings do not escape You.
