Deliverance From Evil

DAY 10 OF 10

Deliverance Takes Time

Deliverance is a process, and like any other procedure, it requires patience, faith, and perseverance to attain.

After God drowns the Israelites’ oppressors in the Red Sea, he begins to lead them to the land flowing with milk and honey that he promised their forefather Abraham.

Still, the land that God assured them they would inhabit was already occupied by pagan nations that were larger and much stronger. Even though God defeated the Israelites' Egyptian oppressors, to take hold of the Promised Land, they had to defeat six new enemies.

And get this, God told his people he would drive out these pagan nations that stood between them and their promise “little by little”.

The Bible said God did it this way because if he had driven out all of His children’s adversaries at the same time, the land would have become desolate, and ferocious beasts would have taken over the terrain.

Today, when God delivers us from bondage, some of the negative thinking patterns and mindsets that helped drive destructive habits may take more time to defeat.

God brings about breakthroughs in our lives through a gradual process to ensure we learn to trust and rely on him enough to resist turning back to our old ways. That is why it is so important to trust God’s process and be patient at the pace of deliverance he is leading us through.

You may feel like whatever you are struggling with is eating you alive. However, if you have surrendered your life to God, you should know that he has already redeemed you and is happy to fight your battles for you. With God on your side, your victory is practically guaranteed.
