The Jesus Mark Wants You to Know - 28 Days to Become More Intimate With Jesusনমুনা
Day 13 - Mark 7:24-37
Unstoppable Compassion.
In spite of the constant harassment from Jewish religious leaders, Jesus doesn’t let it distract Him from what He came to do. His mission compelled Him to seek and save the lost, to bind up the wounds, to set the captives free.
Jesus was impartial as to who He helped, even when it went against cultural and ethnic taboos. The gentile Syrian woman, whose daughter needed demonic deliverance, demonstrated such confidence in Jesus’ impartiality that He couldn’t refuse her.
His heart of compassion ruled the works of Jesus. When the crowd brought Him a deaf and mute man, out of love and sensitivity, Jesus gently and quietly gave this man his hearing and speech. I can imagine that once he discovered he could speak that nothing could stop his praises for Jesus.
I wonder if Jesus thought to Himself how different it could be for the Pharisees if they came to Jesus for spiritual healing so they could hear and speak the truth.
Do I have my own set of religious prejudices that prevent me from being like Jesus? Am I impartial in my dealings with people not like me? Do I have the kind of compassion that drives me to put the needs of others before my own? Have I asked Jesus to deliver me and heal me from spiritual deafness? Will I speak out His praises?
