Wealthy Women Prosperনমুনা
Speaking of containers, do you remember the Bible story about the woman whose jars of oil never ran out? How about the woman whose jars of oil were filled, and then the oil stopped flowing?
When we look at these stories in tandem, there are some remarkable similarities:
- The first story of the woman whose containers never ran out is found in 1 Kings 17:8-16.
- The second story of the woman whose containers were filled is found close to the first story, in 2 Kings 4:1-7.
- In the first story, the miracle is performed by God through Elijah.
- In the second story, the miracle is performed by God through Elisha, Elijah’s successor.
- Each woman was in desperate need of provision.
- Each miracle involved oil, a very valuable resource.
In both stories, the women’s need for provision was satisfied. But we can’t miss the fact that in the first story, the woman’s oil never ran out, while in the second story, the woman’s oil ran out once her containers were filled. Why is that?
Let’s look at the first story. Even though there was a famine in the land, Elijah told the woman to bring him water and a piece of bread and that God would then cause her jar of flour and jug of oil to not run out. Her blessing would remain.
The woman had nothing: she was preparing to make the last meal for herself and her son. However, she did as Elijah asked and brought him the water and bread he requested, and just as he said, her containers remained with the supply. They never emptied.
The second woman gathered container after container until there were no containers left to fill with oil. Once she ran out of containers, the Bible says the oil stopped flowing.
While each woman did as she was instructed and received the blessing, the primary difference between the two stories is that the first woman was asked to give, and she did. She GAVE, and she gave by faith.
What if the difference between having all you need for a season and having all you need for your lifetime lies in your decision to become a giver?
What if giving is the key to limitless supply?
How is it possible that by giving things away - your time, talent, and resources – you would be ushered into limitless supply and sustained blessing? This is a demonstration of God’s higher ways operating in your life. God’s ways don’t make sense to us and exceed our deepest imaginations.
It is possible because the Bible says that everything you give will be returned to you, with good measure, pressed down and shaken together. (Luke 6:38) Be assured that giving is the key to limitless supply because you simply can’t out-give God.
Let’s give limitlessly and receive the same.
manifestHERdaily Question of the Day: Where can I begin giving my time, talent, and resources, as that is key to limitless supply?
