Praying During Times of Loss
Doesn't it break your heart to see a child hurt? When your little child or grandchild runs into a table and smacks her mouth, how do you feel? Bored? Indifferent? Of course not! Your heart breaks, and you tend to the split lip and comfort her and soothe her.
Know what? God loves you even more than you love your children and grandchildren. When you have run into trouble and smacked your face, his big heart has broken too.
Jesus once told a story to his disciples to show them how much their Father cares for them and how they should never give up on praying: "Will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?" (Luke 18:7). Every prayer gets instantaneous processing in the mind of God, and every request will be handled in the way that blesses you most, according to his great wisdom.
So why don't you use that privilege right now? I mean it. What do you need? Where does it hurt? Talk to your Father. He would absolutely love to hear from you right now.
