God and Me: Devotions from Time of Grace

DAY 19 OF 31

God and My Troubles

It's bad enough to feel like you're sinking down with troubles that can't be fixed. What's even worse is when you feel all alone, that nobody knows what you're going through and nobody cares.

If you are wearing the holy robes of Jesus through Baptism (see Galatians 3:27), then neither of the above will ever be true of you. If you are a believer in Christ, then God not only sees you and everything about you, but he claims you and accepts responsibility for how you are doing. No pit is so deep that he can't pull you out; no floodwater is so high that he can't reach where you're at to lift you up.

Here is a psalm for all God's children who feel as though they are drowning in trouble right now: "This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them" (Psalm 34:6,7).

Your Father sees you. Your Savior is with you. His Spirit lives within you. His angels are all around you. At just the right moment, you will experience divine rescue.
