The Devil Will Not Winনমুনা
Stand Confidently in the Power of God
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11
Ever since hijacking the world, Satan and his allies have been engaged in conflict over it. But, as we read in the book of Revelation, Jesus Christ will return and establish His rule and His peace over the earth. Then Christ, who was once crucified for humanity, will cast Satan out of the world that is not rightfully his. In the meantime, we must remember we’re in a battle. We are not thinking rationally if we imagine the devil isn’t keeping an eye on us. Our fight is not casual, nor is it at our discretion. Our enemy, the devil, will attack us on his schedule.
But ten thousand enemies cannot stop a praying Christian, or even slow the Christian down, if that person meets their foes with an attitude of complete trust in God. While the devil is aware of our weaknesses and knows how to manipulate human beings, the power of God working in and through His children is infinitely greater. The apostle Paul points out, in Ephesians 6:10-18, the importance for us to comprehend spiritual warfare and prepare for it.
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13). Notice that Paul says “whole” armor. To stand against the wiles of the devil, we need to be fitted with complete armor for the warfare before us. A partial covering will not work. We must be wholly covered to stand against the devil.
The devil loves to engage us in battle, hoping to do some damage in the process even though he knows he cannot ultimately win. Don’t give the devil any space. Instead, fill your heart and life with God every day, all day and night. When we do that, we can be confident that the devil, in utter annoyance, will flee from us.
I believe God’s purpose is to give believers ample power to carry the fight to the enemy instead of sitting passively by. And as we draw closer to God, our lives are influenced by His power and authority at work in us (Ephesians 3:20).
How I praise You, O God, for protecting me from the enemy of my soul. Help me as I work on my prayer life, so that my prayers will be pleasing to You. Lead me in spiritual warfare, that through me You may defeat the enemy. I want to refresh my soul in Your Word, so that it will give me the strength and discernment to see what the devil is up to. I give my life completely to You, and with Your help, I will never succumb to the devil’s lies. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
