21 Days: Revive Us Againনমুনা

21 Days: Revive Us Again

DAY 14 OF 21

DAY 14: A NEW HEART AND SPIRIT

Reflection:

Ezekiel lived during one of Israel’s most tumultuous times, marked by division and exile under Assyrian and Babylonian rule. This was a consequence of Israel’s disobedience. They had forsaken their God, indulged in idol worship, and abandoned their Promised Land. They had become scattered and hopeless people, like the dry bones in the valley.

We may have once been leading a purpose-driven life with a God-given passion. However, due to mistakes made, failure, or hardship, our passion may have died. We may still be grappling with shame, hurt, and disappointments. We may have even become cynical or withdrawn.

God is not interested in mere resuscitation or fixing broken things. In the valley where He led Ezekiel, God not only put the dry bones back together to form bodies – He breathed new life into them and revived them into a great army, ready for battle. God promised that He would fully restore Israel, and He would begin by reviving their dead, stony hearts.

God wants to breathe new life into the purposes He once placed in our hearts. He wants to revitalise the passion we once had for Him and the things of the Kingdom. If we let him have His way in our hearts, He will not just bring us back to where we once were but take us further than we can imagine.

Response:

Do you have any God-given passions that have faded over time? Has your sense of God-given purpose been dulled?

Begin by asking the Lord to rekindle a passion for Him and His presence in your life. As you identify the passions that may have grown cold, ask God to breathe fresh life into these areas and reignite an enthusiasm to be used for His purposes.
